We’re fighting for a world where every child realises the right to survival, protection, development and participation.
We aim to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
We are guided by our five core values: accountability, ambition, collaboration, creativity and integrity.
In our effort to gather as many children’s voices as we can this Election year, we’ve enlisted the help of our resident superhero, ‘Super Millie’.

Save the Children has been running children’s elections booths around Tāmaki Makaurau, and you can replicate the experience in your classroom!
Children can vote and have their say on issues that are important to them, and their views will be shared with election candidates and voters in the lead-up to General Election 2023 - and beyond.

Our downloadable resource bundle includes everything you need to run a children’s election in your school, including:

Voting forms – including the opportunity to share their voice on issues that are important to them.
Election day materials – posters, bunting, and decorations to make your election day extra exciting!

We recommend running your election between 4 - 22 September in Term 3 or between 9 - 13 October in Term 4.
Please ensure the completed voting forms are returned to us so that your children's voices can be heard!
The views and opinions of children and young people matter - and ensuring those voices are heard is a fundamental right. As we work to create positive change for and with children, it’s vital they are heard and considered this election year.
